World Plumbing Council

The Institute of Plumbing Australia Incorporated (IPA) is an active member of the World Plumbing Council and through its representative Stephen Movley (Institute Secretary) enjoys a seat on the Executive Board (2005 - 2008).

The Institute fully supports the WPC aims of encouraging the world's plumbers to unite for the common good just as it pursues similar aims for Australian Plumbers.

A long term project of WPC in conjunction with the World Health Organisation (WHO) has been the re-write of the publication Health Aspects of Plumbing (HAP).  This book is aimed at developing countries as an aid to setting up and maintaining regulated plumbing systems.  This project has been many years in the making and the IPA contributed to the early drafts.  It is pleasing to note that this project has finally reached fruition with the official launch by WHO on World Water Day.  The book will be available for purchase or as a download from the WHO Web Page.
